Gatchaman Redesign

Well, the title is a bit deceiving.  This isn't really much of a redesign as I was simply jotting down my take on Gatchaman without much thoughts.  I'll call it the first pass and perhaps after several more of these, I'd be more comfortable calling it a "redesign."

  1. You say Gatchaman I say Battle of the Planets. Good works from memory ( I assume).
I do think you are treading new and interesting ground on some of them with a bit of the "Dark Knight" treatment. Figuring out what can be hard points of body armor on a spandex suit, and maximize visual interest and classic visual theme, seems to be the in thing right now. Take a gander at any of the new DC designs and is is all a mix of flex points and body armor. You have always impressed me with your anatomy but I have got to share a new purchase of mine that I am really enjoying:

The way he approaches drawing as mass studies has been really helpful for me in any kind of drawing and his visual description of anatomy is very memorable too. Highly recommended.
Sorry I have been away for a while. I'll post soon and I hope all is going well for you, man.

  2. Hey buddy! Thanks for the book recommendation! I took a peek with the "look inside" feature from Amazon, and from what I can gather the way George Bridgman communicates anatomy with drawings is very easy to understand! So this will be one of the books I plan to order.

So how are things with you? I hope everything is well and that you are keeping up with your art. But it definitely sounds like you are :) Just can't wait to see your post and what you have been working on!

CDA starts up again tomorrow, and I will be taking an environment and character design class. I am trying to limit myself on number of classes so there will be more time for homework.

I have sketches here and there, but nothing really meaningful to post. But I'll try to gather what I can and post them regardless. Also, I'll try to post the stuff from the two classes I will be taking!

Hope to hear back from you soon. Really curious to hear about your plans on coming back here man!

    Talk to you soon!
